Excellent opportunity for a switched-on and well-presented exhibition sales professional to join an award-winning organiser on a portfolio of high-calibre, exclusive events.

You’ll need previous experience in selling exhibition / expo / trade show stand space or sponsorship, with strong negotiation and relationship building skills. The role is based in central London.

The Role:

As commercial executive, you’ll be responsible for generating revenue for events through the sale of stand space, sponsorship and hospitality packages. This includes managing existing revenue streams and establishing new ones. More specifically:

a)    Maximising revenues from existing, new and lapsed clients

b)    Identifying and sourcing new business opportunities.

c)    Establishing, maintaining and improving relationships with existing, new and lapsed clients

What You’ll be Doing:

  • Ensuring revenue and profit targets are achieved at maximum yield.
  • Researching and canvassing for new business and identifying sales opportunities
  • Selling at agreed rates and negotiating as necessary
  • Maintaining all records on the database ensuring that all individual and company details are correct and up to date
  • Meeting effective work standards through preparation and enthusiastic and professional delivery
  • Pursuing relationships/contact with decision makers
  • Arranging appropriate sales meetings with decision makers
  • Professional and effective use of visual aids in addition to maintaining control and relevance of face to face meetings
  • Maintaining accurate event plans
  • Helping in the delivery of events as required
  • Understanding USP’s and benefits of own and competitor products
  • Monitor competitor offering and websites to seek and convert leads. Also monitor new clients and industry developments for lead conversion
  • Maintaining product knowledge
  • Understanding market trends and developments to maximise sales opportunities
  • Delivering maximum revenues from new and existing clients while offering an excellent client service
  • Representing Thorough Events at all relevant exhibitions and events
  • Contacting key decision makers at client site and developing an understanding of their business
  • Communicating regularly with line management regarding prospective business through pipeline reporting
  • Collaborating closely with the account manager

Key Requirements:

  • Exhibition stand & sponsorship sales: A proven track record in delivering success and creating creative solutions that meets with the goals of the clients and the revenue objectives of the business.
  • Ability to identify new revenue streams
  • Creative thinking: Ability to identify opportunities and then develop new initiatives and compelling creative solutions
  • Strong goal orientation: Track record in focusing on, setting and exceeding personal, team and organizational commercial goals
  • Effective communicator: Demonstrates ability to build rapport with senior industry contacts; adept at networking and socialize productively; and able to relate to others at all levels both internally and externally
  • Experience of working collaboratively
