An excellent Head of Sales position, based in Surrey, for one of the world’s biggest trade show brands.

You’ll need to be an experienced events sales professional, with a track record in delivering against target and a confident, personable demeanour.

The Role:

You’ll work alongside the Event Director, developing the sales strategy for the business and using it to achieve exhibition sales against an annual target. You’ll be required to research and develop new leads as well as maintaining close relationships with existing exhibitors, both over the phone and face-to-face. You’ll also manage two sales executives and engage with trade associations and sales agents.

You’ll need to be a self-motivated individual with a strong desire to achieve against target. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where success is rewarded, with plenty of opportunity for further career progression.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Achieving annual sales against target
  • Building annual sales strategy
  • Building monthly sales plan
  • Researching markets to identify new prospects and sectors
  • Developing sales messaging and proposition
  • Developing and leading exhibitor promotional campaign, including writing sales emails
  • Monthly forecasting and reconciliation of numbers
  • Management and coaching of 2 direct reports.
  • Managing and supporting international sales partners.
  • Collaboration with trade associations
  • Preparing and leading face to face meetings –sometimes presenting to up to 50 people.
  • Following up and closing the numerous incoming sales leads.
  • Researching and calling potential new exhibitors

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in exhibition stand sales
  • People management skills
  • Well organised and methodical with experience in developing sales plans
  • Strong attention to detail and good IT compitency
  • Confident, outgoing, determined, and hungry for success.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop relationships and close the sale
  • Excellent written communicaton skills
  • Comfortable with selling over the phone
