We’re looking for an effective and strategic Portfolio Director to deliver the development of some strong, well-established brands. This is a rare opportunity to join one of the UK’s best-respected exhibition organisers – the position is based in London.

The Role

You’ll be leading the way in developing a particular event portfolio with the aim of expanding both domestically and internationally. Key outcomes of the appointment include the development of strategic growth plan for a large-scale event, with a focus on clear brand positioning and innovation – as well as the growth of several smaller brands.

You’ll need:

  • To be able to demonstrate effective leadership – recruiting, motivating and empowering a team – leading by example
  • Extensive experience in a similar role, building events and inspiring markets through live experiences
  • Extensive P&L / commercial experience and ability to forecast effectively
  • Direct experience in managing customers and meeting their needs with tailored experiences
  • Project management experience across large cross-functional budgets and stakeholders
  • An eye for detail, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadline

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing a visionary events plan for each show, based on input from cross-functional teams. This will be in conjunction with the MD, Operations Director and Sales Director.
  • Driving revenue streams across the events portfolio and insuring that the events are delivering a ‘best in market’ experience
  • Analysing the competitive landscape in the UK and internationally in order to bring new ideas to the table
  • Event programming, production, marketing that deliver impact across the portfolio
  • Managing budgets reporting, ensuring that feedback is used to transform and improve the events
  • Building strong relationships with marketing partners and key vendors
