We’re looking for an Awards Event Manager to take on a superb 9-month contract position at a growing event organiser based in central London.

You’ll need to be an events professional with previous experience in managing awards ceremonies and events.

The Role:

The Events Manager will be working across a number of small and large client facing events within business-to-business titles in different industry sectors. You’ll manage the successful organisation and staging of sponsored events to the satisfaction of the sponsors, the attendees and publishing teams.

The role will be responsible for the successful, smooth and profitable running of various key industry award ceremonies, forums and round tables. These also include in-house and external round-table discussions, meetings, webinars and regional events.

The job requires close liaison with the sales, marketing and editorial teams, some travel with flexible working including some weekend work.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and project manage events, working closely with the sales, editorial and marketing team throughout the entire creative and development process.
  • Project managing event brochures (working closely with marketing on design and content)
  • Management and mentoring of an events co-ordinator
  • Full operations management before and onsite during the event including venue sourcing and negotiation of contracts, creating event timelines, scheduling documents and onsite guides. Production and innovation of event themes and set designs. Oversee supplier management and produce speaker briefs, manage the day-to-day running of the event as well as the event team, procurement of catering, audiovisual, security & rental needs.
  • Experience of working with A.V. suppliers to plan the production of an event. Setting up regular meetings to discuss every aspect from a visual and audio perspective including advanced power point, music, VOG’s, lighting, and management of the celebrity host.
  • Main contact and liason with the venue including negotiation of the contracts, room lay out, menu selection, providing special dietary equirements
  • Familiar with dealing with hotel agents and negotiating event discounts
  • Sponsor liason; once onboard work with the event sponsors to ensure the successful completion of the sponsorship deliverables.
  • Speaker liason; Speakers liaison regarding technical riders, presentations and bios

Key Requirements:

  • Direct, in-depth experience in managing Awards ceremonies is essential
