Venue Manager / General Manager / Arena Manager position for large-scale, multipurpose music and sports arena in Germany. You'll need to be a senior entertainment industry professional, liaising with some of the world's biggest promoters in both entertainment and sport.

The Role:

Become the General Manager for a large-scale multipurpose arena - a hugely successful live sport/entertainment venue situated in Western Germany. You'll also be responsible for developing and leading a team, promotion, revenue generation, customer satisfaction and cost-effective facility management.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing inspired direction for staff across all operating departments including without limitation, sales, booking, marketing, finance and accounting, human resources, food and beverage, box office, advertising, security, purchasing, event production, maintenance, parking and related operations
  • Development of annual business plan including; event calendar, activity schedules, sales and marketing activities and goals - optimising all revenue streams and maximising cost efficiencies
  • Devising, contracting and delivering an annual programme of mixed events
  • Developing and maintaining close working relationships with clients, key stakeholders contractors and customers
  • Preparing and directing reporting and budgeting including preliminary budget, capital expenses, operating revenue, expense budgets, etc.
  • Developing and monitoring the facilities' goals in line with client objectives, best practice and corporate standards
  • Directing management of inventories, approving purchase of materials, equipment and supplies as needed
  • Assuring coordination and implantation of plans and programmes prescribed by corporate directives in order to: maintain high-standards for guest services, employee training and development, quality assurance, energy efficiency, safety/emergency procedures, crowd control and crisis management procedures, or other areas as required

You'll require the following experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in a senior management level position within a Stadium or Arena with a mixed programme
  • Fluent German and English
  • Proven track record of managing and leading large-scale facility operations with a diverse workforce
  • Entrepreneurial flair and great business acumen
  • Significant experience in the following areas: contract negotiations, supervising personnel, booking, promoting and supervising live entertainment productions, business law, purchasing procedures, plus labour relations and union contracts (if applicable)
  • Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the industry
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year accredited college or university with major course work in business or public administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
